Default Ever seen this? rent a GT3 for a day

Check this out:
http://www.gothamdreamcars.com/new-y...car-rental.htm

It seems like it could be a good way to have some fun for a day. $900 to rent a GT3.

Has anyone had any experience with something like this?

Oh yeah they also have Ferraris and Lambos.

These would make a nice vacation rental esp west coast- Hwy 1 cruise up the coast.

I am actually surprised that they offer a 997 GT3...w/ 6-speed manual shifter for this reason:

my wife and I had a beer with one of the rental managers of a similar operation around south beach Miami during super bowl-- these guys have adopted a wise policy of offering exclusively paddle-shift type vehicles (F1 on Ferrari, e-gear on Lambo, SMG on M5, 996 turbos only w/Tip) to make the cars more idiot-proof, shift program would prevent range III, IV + mechanical overrevs.

Imagine the hassle of trying to establish/ litigate via ECU scope which renter should be held liable if there were progressive engine damage.. going back multiple renters during previous week/month..no thanks.

Club Ferdinand, located in Valle Crucis, NC has a fleet sharing program. While there are no GT3s, they do have several 911s, (993, 996, Carrera 4), Caymans, Boxsters, a 356 and a Spyder (reproduction). IIRC, they are/have been looking at adding a GT3.

edit: the link would not post. You will have to google for the web-site. I am not affiliated with CF but have stayed there and seen the cars.

Gotham is a top notch operation...the cars are tip top and the management is once of the best in this (what seems to be) ever growing business.

I've been a customer and will gladly do business with them again. I've seen their GT3 (not to mention the other beauties including a TT Cab) and it's a great machine.

Enjoy!

I'm very interested to hear your comments about your experience with Gotham. I have been tempted to rent the F430 for a day, which I believe is about $1800, but have been leery because I have never known anyone who had dealings with them.

The rental prices for the F-Cars are steep but I'm sure it would be a day that I would remember for a long time to come.

there are other companies that rent exotics as well.

Last year I did two exotic car drives (not with Gotham). You pay one fee (the first time I did it was only $695) and you drive six cars for a total of 30 miles each.

The first time I drove:

Ferrari F430
Ferrari 612
Lamborgini Gallardo
Aston Martin DB9 convertible
Corvette Z06
Bentley Continental GT
i was supposed to drive the Ford GT but someone had wrecked it the night before. Btw one of the editors of Car and Driver was in my group of 6 and did a short story that appeared in the magazine

The second time I did it, the cost was $800 and I drove:
Ferrari F430
Ford GT
BMW M6 (the gallardo broke down so they had the M6 instead)
Corvette Z06
Aston Martin Vanguish
Bentley Continental GT

now most of these exotic car drive charge between $900 to $1200

Of all the cars I drove, the Ferrari F430 was the best by car.

I once got an Audi S4 convertible from Hertz in the Bay area.
