Default Dealer refuses to turn off airbag warning lights..

Where is everyone going to have this done? Gossett, our dealer in Memphis refuses to do this unless I bring them a liability waiver.

I got mine done at an independent dealer. Just find one that has a PIWIS system. Takes about 5 minutes (of course they will charge you for an hour labor )

My dealer did it without question, took about 2 minutes. Charged me $0.

You guys need to find better, motorsports friendly dealers...

Default Release!

Doc2s was nice enough to put me in contact with his dealer who was nice enough to email me a copy of their release. Now waiting for actual OWNER at local dealer to approve the thing, unbelievable. Hoping to get this out of the way b4 this week-end. Have track test day here mid next week.

Thanks to everyone for the input.

tc, no problem. it's not important to get it done before the event. you will have a warning light on, no big deal. TPMS will be on as well so you will get used to it. have fun at the track.

Unitah,

Would you mind telling us which dealer you use (independent or Porsche)? PM if you feel it's necessary. I'm currently in the market and it would be nice to know of a well-respected dealer in the area.

Thanks,
WHB

dude, search under "mooty" or "air bag" there are multiple post of the EXACT algorithm for dealer to use PIWIS to turn the thing off. if the person, **** forget person, if the organism you deal with can actually breath, it should be able to figure how how to turn the proper things off.

some dealers are so full of it.

it's one thing they refuse to turn off, if they tell you they dont know HOW, why would you trust them to work on your car? oil change on GT3 is much much harder then turing these warning lights off. i watched them do it. took 6 minutes.

Default Air bag light saga continues...

Everybody ready for this? Owner at Gossett here in Memphis has decided liability release supplied by other dealership is not good enough. Final decision is refusal to turn off air bag lights. One more addition to this experience: I had also asked this dealership to remove and install the genuine Porsche purchased GT seats and they refused, stating: those are RoW parts and we are not allowed to install RoW parts.

Suggestions?

Wonderful, talented Porsche shop, Pat Williams Racing, but he has older program and not the 15 K to upgrade. Talked to Hunstville, Ala. dealer who needs to make sure they know what to do, very small dealership. Huntsville is a 6 hour drive. Calling Nashville dealer tomorrow to see what they say. You know, I'll find a way, it just really sucks that the dealer here, who has been saying he wants our PCA local club to support him, has this stupid attitude.

If it wasn't for warranty being a new car, I would so tell them to screw themselves. I guess they really want to cover their asses.

Good luck!!

Didn't have to turn any lights off on my install of cs package. Light comes on just for a second on start up and then goes off as normal.
