Default GT3/RS Sport Exhaust switch defeat??

Guys,

I made a simple mod on my 997C4S Porsche sport Exhaust (PSE) to make it stay ON all of the time (so I didnt have to keep hitting the switch).

I simply disconnected the pink connector on top of the engine and there ya go - sports exhaust always open!

Question is - is the same modification do-able on my forthcoming GT3RS ??

Many thanks!

dealmaker - yes it is the same connector in the same location. Just pull the plug and the vacuum switch keeps the bypass open all the time. Note that the "sport" switch still is useful for altering the torque characteristics of the engine, which is one of the other things it does.

best,

You still have to hit the sport button to get the revised TC mapping.

Where is that in relation to everything else, hard to tell in that pic?
So is the plug grey?

It is on the passenger side of the engine compartment, about a hand's breadth in front of the bumper and from the side of the engine bay. You can also trace the hard vacuum lines from the exhaust to it

Gray. Just print the pic out and match it up to your car. You'll find it easily.

Just pull on it firmly. There's a thin wire that keeps it from slipping off the locking tab. Pulling on it firmly will "slip" this wire over the locking tab. Alternatively, you can get a plier and pry this wire off. Then it will easily pull out.

You may not like it. I tried it and it did not sound good at low speeds. Too much drone.
My GMG mufflers will be here next week. Hopefully I can get them on before the next DE on Sunday.

Actually pulling the plug while pressing the locking wire clip in is easier than pulling it out.
I agree w/ cabcar, there's too much drone.
