Default Rear wheel rock chip gaurd

My car came with clear bra(dealer installed) I was wondering if the rear chip guard over both rear fender wells is stock or is this part of my clear bra? What on your cars? Mine looks like the rear rock guard on my 993 TT.
TIA

My clear bra was arranged to be installed by the dealer (for a price). They did a very nice job and I am happy I got it. A little less to worry about. The guards for the rear fenders were factory installed and if I am not mistaken are standard equipment.

I read somewhere the rear plastic guards will eventually fade a bit. My worry is that againts a white paint job w/c I have this won't look cool.

standard, yes. big enough, no. After two weeks there were loads of chips under, behind and above the standard fit plastic guard. Too obvious on a black car so had to do something about it. As a quick fix I bought film on a roll and fitted it myslef. Not perfect but OK job. Bit cheesed off right now; just got another ticket on the way home...

Bad luck, there. I can't believe it hasn't happened to me yet - not only is the GT3 very fast, but it's just so addictive. I was out with a friend tonight and said (only half joking) 'Even if there was a police car behind me right now, I think I'd still just have to go for it! I'll think of something [an excuse, I mean] by the time he pulls me over...'

All true, but you will probably feel better about replacing the clear bra after a couple of years instead of having the car painted. Seems like the less expensive option. Installer information suggests weekly washing will help with the yellowing problem.

My 993TT rear rock guard had yellowed abit but it was 2003 and the car was 6 years old.
I guess we should expect. the whole clear bra is a relatively recent phenomena (5-6 years?) so there
is not a whole lot of data on this. Like when should clear bra be replaced and how does the paint react
to having it removed? How long does each product take to yellow? We should ask the 996 guys they would probably have some data on the era we are looking for.

Reports are that the products, 3M, AccuGuard, etc. are getting better as well as the installers. Life expectancy varies with climate and maintainence. Nothing lasts forever.

Are these factory fender covers/clear bra on RS's too? I can't seem to find them.

The Clear Bra is optional equipment and can be installed on any car. The "fender covers" are a triangular shaped piece just behind the rear wheel well, painted the body color and is standard factory equipment.

unlike GT3, the RS has NO clear film coverings ANYWHERE as delivered from factory.

and let's not kid ourselves. if your clear bra still looks good after 3 years, you either dont drive your car, or dont drive it fast enough, or you are way too lucky. they get chew'd up, i dont care if they are 3M, venture or whatever. i had them all.

GT3 is the same. Clear Bra is an add on installed by the dealer or contractor. Cost is +/- 1K. If it lasts 3 years and you can pull it off (reportedly no damage to the paint) it is cheap enough. Beats the other options currently available.
