Ahh. I didn't decode that information correctly from your other post. Thanks for the confirmation.

I am still confused about this issue. I saw both my 997 GT3 and a 997 Cup Car side by side, and the front spoiler was off the cup car. There was NO WAY to make it fit on my car, unfortunately. Can someone please post a closeup photos of the cup car spoiler on a street GT3? Thanks!

Just picked up the cup spoiler I ordered. The holes for securing the spoiler to the bumper are in entirely different places. The cup spoiler will not go on a GT3 bumper without modification.

Thanks Silverboy...I think that was taken from T5 at VIR.

...what I found on the factory aero kit was the cup car lip snaps in all the way across the front bumper cover but the tabs on the sides (at the inside of the wheel wells) are not exactly the same. The exact difference is the plastic wheel well liner on the cup car has a tab that mates up to a tab on the the cup car lip. If you really want to go through the trouble you can change the front portion of the wheel well liner but its really not necessary.

For those of us interested in the Cup diffuser, that sucks!

Default cup splitter

The cup splitter fits on the stock 997 GT3 front end without any modification and is easier than the stock splitter to install. The tabs are in a slightly different configuration and some of them are even "deeper." However, if lined up perfectly with the bumper, the splitter fits perfect and stays in without any need for those little securing screws at the wheel well. It looks mean and is actually more forgiving and flexible than the stock piece. My only concern is does it add more front down force? I'm hoping that it does because I increased the angle of the rear wing. A downside is that you decrease the air flow to the front brakes/rotors. I'm going to try a few runs with a cut-out in the splitter that corresponds to where the factory splitter has holes.

I would think the two splitters are interchangeable. If you look up photos of the F-L GTR (Cayman conversion with the GT3 front end), both splitters have been used.

Definitely more down force with the cup car splitter…

I was having trouble with the brakes overheating on a day we measured the track temp at 163 degrees…we made some track mods with a hole saw just to get more air circulating and I could absolutely feel the difference.

OK, obviously we are all talking about 2 DIFFERENT Cup Car splitters. The one that I saw in person and GBGT purchased must be different then the ones that everyone else is purchasing and works!

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE POST A PART NUMBER FOR THE CUP CAR SPLITTER THAT FITS THE 997 GT3??? Thank you!!

Let me clarify, the Cup spoiler will fit on a GT3 bumper. Those who have stated this are indeed correct. What I said is that the securing points (little holes near the wheel wells) are NOT in the same place. One could not simply put a cup spoiler on a GT3 bumper and screw it into place. If using those securing holes isn't important than you could theoretically use the Cup spoiler and just not secure it.

Default spoiler

No need to secure the cup spoiler - fits much more secure than the stock spoiler since it has a couple of deeper (longer) tabs.

They're killing me Norm, killing me. I'm getting the sense that this part number is the Holy Grail of Porsche's.....

As for the conversion, it has slowed a bit due to lack of free time, but, progressing... Working on suspension conversion to all solid now, as well as front section of RS cage. Following that will be tranny work: LWFW, clutch, tranny mount, cup car gearing and final drive.
