Default '08 Allocations of GT3's and RS's Announced!

My dealer got his '08 GT3 and RS allocations on Thursday. Two (2) GT3's and no RS's. This compares with his allocation in '07 of ten (10) GT3's and three (3) RS's.
According to them, 105 GT's have been allocated in the US for '08, and no RS's.
Ray Catina, a very large dealer in New Jersey, got the same allocation as my dealer in Greenwich.
Can this be true? What's the story around the rest of the US?
Regards,
Ray

I do not think that the allocations are given on a yearly number, although I maybe wrong.

Just called my dealer, he didn't receive his 08 allocations yet (for GT3 and GT3RS). Therefore he can neither confirm nor deny the allocation numbers. However, he personally knows the GMs of Catena and the Greenwich dealerships and consider the numbers entirely plausible.

Interesting.

Well that will make all the Current RS owners happy and the ones on the list very sad. I feel for you guys-I know how bad you guys wanted one.
On the GT3 side. It makes me glad I bought mine as an 07. I had planned on going on order for an 08. that might have been a mistake. If above said is true then an ealier post stating dealers refunding deposits on 08's and holding allocations for the highest bidder makes sense given the actions of our lovely supportive dealers lately.

Ray...was just informed that there will be a grand total of 120 base GT3's for the 13 months following the start of the '08's and that no RS allocations have been released yet. ....our data together spells few if any at all for the potential of new RS's in the US....I was told to not let go of either car. Period.

Are all model yr Porsche allocations stated at the beginning of the model yr for each dealer with no change?

I was told it was their full allocation for '08, though I agree that it does not appear the RS allocations have been made.

That said, is it logical that there will be more RS's than GT3's? I must admit, with all we've read on the topic on this forum, I am personally baffled.

Does anyone else have feedback from their local dealer?

Regards,
Ray

Just that I was told to forget ordering an 08 by several Ca dealers. Thats when I called Mooty in a panic.
