Mesh vs. Cup screens
Why not put similar mesh as those used on the Cups directly in front of the radiator? By cutting them in multiple pieces, you can fit these through the bumper and epoxy in place with hi-temp RTV. I very much doubt you will see a temp difference vs. the Cup screens that goes in front of the bumper.
Pros:
Don't have to take out the bumper
Costs < $40 (vs. $400+ Cup screens)
Easy to replace
Retains that OEM open vent look
Can be done in <1 hour
Cons:
A large object may still mess up the fins?
Heat issues?
