Allocations should be known by your dealer in late June, early July.

You need to go to a big volume heavy hitter. Allocations are based on sales. Forget about loyalty and start calling till you find one at MSRP. It may be too late already.

For a standard GT3? I don't think so...I talked to a few dealers around here a few weeks ago, and none had even bothered to start a list for 2008 allocations...first ones were still available, and all three had inbound unclaimed 2007s.

Still ten guys on the list at my dealer for a 997 RS, and there are six guys on the list already for the 998 RS...if they make one.
Although, according to this board, OF COURSE they'll make one...PAG can make money making them!
I'm number three on the new list!

My dealer just called me today with a changeable order for a regular, non-RS GT3.

I passed, since I took delivery of my RS ~2 weeks ago.

Here is his contact:

Gary Tucker
Schneider-Nelson Porsche
(732)935-7600

Tell him Berry S sent you.

No affiliation, just a satisfied (2X!) customer.

I grabbed the #1 spot for a 998 RS and RSR at my dealer in case they make one.....and you know they will...maybe the "8" in 998 will mean 8 cylinders ...I would love to see a flat 8!!

Thanks for all the precious info guys. I already found some dealers to get me allocations for GT3, But what I actually would like to get is the RS. I know it might be too late. But I m still willing to get in line. I m not in a rush to get one now for the bragging rights. Even if I have to wait for 998 RS, I am willing to do so.

I just don't feel paying anything over MSRP, I actually found one allocation open, although I cannot spec out the car, it is coming in July. Dealer is asking for $50 large over and of course I m not going to get that.

I feel Porsche is a great car for your money, but if I have to pay close to $200k for it, I would rather buy a Fcar, but then, I m not seeing myself in a Fcar that soon (may be in a few years)

Who knows, may be people in front of me will change their mind and get the new 430 Challenge or Gallardo Super Leggera or the new GT2 and leave the RS allocations open.
