That's a nice seat. Even more aggressive than the 430 sport seat. Where do you get a seat like that?! Reminds me of the 550 sport seats (about $10K each in the Barchetta ... :| )

I believe Sabelt makes stuffs for SPARCO, Sparco is just a brand not really a manufacturer! Sabelt private label most of the products for SPARCO, like they used to supply them the harnesses too, but now, Schroth is OEM for Sparco belts. Schroth also makes harnesses for F1, LeMans, Porsche Cup Cars, etc..

seats are very nice and quite supportive but not for track duty since no provision for 5/6 point belts and the reclining back. i think you are right about pricing. they make the porsche seats sound like a bargain.

Robin - which question are you answering? Why the 997 GT3 seats cost 3 x more than the 996 GT3 seats?

Is this USA bashing week in Germany or something? (reference the 'ring with tourist delivery thread)?

I was just looking at the 430 sport seat in an '06 (potentially ordered and received in '05, I didn't ask) but the sport seat has square bolsters and electric adjustment (blecch!) so this is more like a special order race shell perhaps mix-n-matched out of a 360CS ... I know practically nothing about ordering Ferraris.

I may be wrong but i have seen a "sport seat" in my local f-car dealer and it looked very similar to this and had no electric adjustment

I just ordered a 2007 F430 Coupe and attempted to order the "Two Racing Seats Wholly in Leather" per the order guide at $5,004. The dealer could not input the order code, same reason as the Porsche seats (airbag issues). Had to order the "Daytona Style seat Upohlstry" $2,755 - no comparison to racing seat or Porsche euro GT3 / GT3 RS row seat .

I guess your order must be going through almost immediately. Placing an order today would most likely be an '08 model year but the Italians do whatever they do and if you're waiting in line for an F430 coupe without F1, you might be ahead of some other
I think there's another seat to consider or maybe it's not yet available.

I can't say I like the Daytona seat and wouldn't pay for it. The electric sport seat is a much more appealing item and said to help with resale.

What else are you ordering on the car?

(I know, I need to stick to the topic ...)

I know wrong Forum, Porsche #1, but car crazy!!!!! 2007 Black / Black, F1, Daytona Seats, Power seats, grey deviated stitching, carbon fiber lower cabin, carbon fiber cockpit w/ steering wheel, leather headliner, HI-FI Sound and pre-wiring and kit for battery charging. $209,426 MSRP plus $40K to dealer. Not good enough customer yet, but still below market pricing. Want 599GTB but dealer wants $325K MSRP plus $140K - nuts!!!!!!!

What dealer is this? Your specs sound great; I'm sure it'll be a terrific car.

I think black/black is a rock solid choice. While you're nowhere near in the hunt for a 599 until you build up the history, getting a new car at $40K over isn't such a bad proposition and I'm sure there are guys with their history 355's and 360's wondering why they've gone through multiples of that premium and still waiting for their 430. At least you can be reasonably assured of most of that premium now carrying forward to your next one. Even if this is your first and last, you're not doing so badly and will recoup much of that spread.

Honestly no bashing - I got in a Euro spec car a few months ago with a comparatively small friend from Chicago, who races here in Europe, and the car was 'full' with the two of us, as we are both built like racers and not carrying any spare condition, it was blindingly obvious that the seats we were using would not suit larger and taller Americans, or even Canadians.

If you want to be wryly amused, shocked, or appalled, check on how the specification for the width of the pilot seat has increased over the years, and I don't think it can be blamed on the increased need for eructation!

And as far as my comments on the tourist delivery thread go - I was saying that a German friend had observed how well a group of US servicemen were driving.

The issue, as I see it, is why GT3 customers ($106K+) are forced to replace OE seats with seats that will accommodate 6-point harnesses!.

PCNA, you haven't done your homework! No way should your customers be forced to pay big bucks for aftermarket seats just to accommodate PCA track requirements, (harness slots and crotch strap slots). And, on top of the totally inept seating requirements, you're forced to discard the air bags in the stock "sport" seats when you replace the OE seats with aftermarket seats!

Porsche maketing, you've really dropped the ball here! This oughta be grounds for a bunch of Class-action suits!
