No side effects. It's also pretty easy to do and un-do.

Paul, you old dog!

I'm glad you didn't get carried away and pay over sticker. Or at least not too much.

As for "not affording" an RS ... did you look at the sticker on yours? : )

I was watching for other white ones (Carlsen has one) but I didn't know you'd take GT Silver. And I tend to agree, once you're in the paddock, it will be hard to find a white GT3 amid a sea of them (almost as hard as finding an orange or green RS in their retro-fluoro seas ... just kidding!)

That Sport Chrono wart can be removed and replaced with the single piece dash (and since it's not full leather, the part is cheap.)

And while it's fun to pull the plug on the exhaust flaps, it creates a lot of cabin resonance. I find the "binary" exhaust note (the way it just switches on at 4500rpm even if you're climbing speed slowly with a constant throttle position) to be odd. Passengers sometimes ask why I "punched it" but the car didn't accelerate. It does help the start-up noise to be less "Boxster" though ... : ) Keep in mind you need to hit the button to get the altered torque curve.

Given the extent of Manthey upgrades to your 996 GT3, this new one will leave you with a very short list of upgrades. Rear control arms seem important and keep an eye on rear rotor temps and rear pad wear, otherwise the new ceramics seem to be holding up. You might drop a line to Bob and get his short-list of upgrades from the RS parts bin (chin brace, deck-lid, wing) ... there's still further drops down the slippery slope ... : )

Congratulations. Nicely done.

Congrats. Silver looks marvelous. Somehow it sounds like you justified this to the wife with "my back hurts in the 6GT3 need to get a new 7GT3 as therapy for my back."

Enjoy. Now go change your avatar.

Yea Eric it worked and by the way the seats ARE better on my back I was able to drive 5 hours yesterday and it wasnt too bad on the back. Not as good as the sport seats in my wifes 335i twin turbo but ALOT better than the Euro GT3 seat on my back.

And she'll say; "well, you wanted to buy a cheap car, now keep it!!" (cause that's what you told her about the RS, cheap version). Better not tell her the CUP is even cheaper (since it doesn't have an interior) cause I don't think it will work.....
