BRG88 in Oshawa is the shop I go to..they do great work...they race a 997 & 996 GT3 Cup, 997 is in the Rolex series.. if your in the Toronto area I would highly recomend going there for service if your having any trouble sorting the handling out on your 996 or 997.

Abuse my tires.

Was yoour ten mins of toe total or per wheel?
What is your wing set up? Maybe there is to much downforce and it takes off the (allready small amount) of weight in the front creating even more understeer?

997GT - the push was in the low speed corners. I doubt the wing had any effect.

Wow, I find that quite weird. Then some quite intense suspension setting will be required. Sucks that the dealer can't ajust the settings of the sway bars, camber, toe etc. correctly for a purpusly built "race car".

i think the other issue you all are having is your suspension geometry is similar to the cup cars that run 18 inch wheels...you have 19's so dont use their settings as a baseline....or conversely try 18's and see if the car feels better with the same set up you have now..

have fun...
you will find the yoko's heat cycle out quickly, tread is there, but no grip after a while.

you using 5pt harness with stock seat? did you dig a hole on seat cushion for substrap?

You know, another thing to think about. PAG added 10 mm of contact patch to the rear but not the front with these new cars. I know far more about E36 M3s than these porsches but when that happened with the E36 cars in 1996, it destroyed the car's balance. I think we are seeing the same thing here. But I'm shocked that PAG didn't give us the tools to dial it out.

most of us run even square on e36m3, same size donuts.
i suppose you can move to 245 front and 295 rear? just a WILD conjecture...
but i wont do that until i exhaust the more common methods with alignment and bar settings.

Could the problem you're facing be related to the track surface? When I did National Tour in seattle, I was surprised at how much oversteer my car had on asphalt as compared to the neutral handling on concrete that my car was setup for. Just a thought.

FC - you could be right. At a previous event in the rain on a different track my car was great. A week later on a grippy dry surface it pushed a lot. I will test on another dry track this weekend and report. On the other hand, we will use the Calabogie track frequently so we all need a set up that works or, watch ourselves get passed by the 996GT3s we sold.

Data:
-Measurements taken inside perfectly flat and level garage.
-1/2 tank of fuel
-no driver
-GT3 seats (-about 50 lbs) + 997 RS Cage (+ 37 lbs)(for weight and balance purposes)

Left Front: 25 5/8"
Right Front: 25 7/8"
Left Rear: 26 1/8"
Right Rear: 26 3/8"
Thanks for looking at this for me. I can work with these heights as well. Like you I have replaced the seats with Recaro's and I have the GT3 cage which is likely in an around 40 lbs.

I think that I'm going to have the shop work from the ground up where ride height is concerned. I suspect that I will find that my car has a rake problem as well when all is said and done. Its booked for Thursday so I will report on Saturday after I have completed the service and the test.

Thanks for your help.
