Having traded a Cayman S for a 997 GT3, I can vouch for it's handling. Both cars track very, very well, but the CS felt much lighter, steering-wise. Pushing it hard in turns was so easy and confidence inspiring. It is one car that you can jump in and go fast from the get go. Nothing to learn.

But it's straightline speed is only OK. You really have to rev it to feel it push. Very difficult to power slide in. But that's usually not the fastest way from A to B.

Not new, btw, Ernie raced the entire 2006 PCA season in his Cayman S.
