Nice look'n plates but way too fancy for nothing. Just a plate with nuts and bolts would of done the job...... Right!!

That's pretty clearly a first effort. Surely they'll tweak it, get their logo into the CNC model and presumably figure out a way to use a less extravagant billet (since it's about 30% waste just at a glance.

why didn't this fit before? was the oem plate mounted inside the car effectively raising the bar and not clearing the sunroof? I see the plate is shaved to reduce weight but still have the big foot print. Also appears to have SS threaded sleaves? that is a nice touch. Is the RS bar easier to install and remove or something? Still not sure why it would be more popular option that the custom ones designed here.

I thought the RS bar wouldn't fit because of the sunroof?

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the plates supposed to be on the inside?

Not necessarily, the interior plates are welded onto the rollbar. The billet plates that Champion built go under the car; the bolts go through the interior plates, through the floorpan, and through the exterior plates. It's like sandwiching the floorpan with plates. The bolts need something to mount to outside the car. Hopefully that makes sense.

I can confirm, the RS cage fits the GT3 with a sunroof perfectly. I had it installed 2 weeks ago. I had a plate welded to the floor INSIDE the car, however, and the front legs of the cage bolted to it. I didn't want bolts to go through the floor of the car as it is a point of rust in the future. The carpet was then reinstalled, looks beautiful.

I'll post a complete review later with photos...

Drill a hole or weld, you still create bare metal that will rust on the outside the car. Eveything needs a splash of paint. Keep in mind the weld, if any good, has to penetrate both pieces of metal (that means going all the way through whatever piece of the car.)

Unfortunately, the front section of the cage is not yet available, so, I am still playing the waiting game with that...
