Why the change in rubber on 997 RS ?
I have seen some with MICHELIN and others with PERELLI... I thought all were to be spec'd with the CUP sport wheels... My father in laws has been shod with PERELLIs... anyone one else have this?

My GT3 came with Pirelli....found a cut to the cord on a rear with 200mi.
My dealer was going to take care of it, however
There were NO Pirelli tires in the US, not even from Pirelli directly to replace it.
I ended up buying one Michelin PSC and got the other three comped.
I'm happy now
Sorry to hear that you got stuck with Pirelli's

My GT3 [not an RS] came with the Pirellis too. While I wish it had come with the Michelins, I have put three track days on the tires and they did very well. As a reference, I used 34 psi hot front and rear and found the car to be very well balanced. The tires did nothing wrong and look as if they would do several more track days. All three days were at Road Atlanta which has recently been repaved.

PCNA does a lt of research on this and, based upon their files, warranty claims etc., they allocate the Michelins to the faster drivers in their database.
The slow pokes get the Pirellis.
Rumor has it my RS is coming with Pirellis!
Oh! It is also a line item in their policy for MJones to go to PSDS (PDE) more, and then he will get the good tires.
