Back on topic. I'm glad Porsche is selling the RS in limited numbers. I hope they stay firm on this.

The RS is a special car. This is the first real RS brought to U.S., and they did it on a more regulated environment than 1973 or 1992. The car should remain special.

The RS is also the best looking 911 currently available.

Is the Cup Car based on RS, ie., Wide-body?
Did Porsche factory raced the RS 2.7 back in 1970's?

Knowing they have (excuse the expression) 'customers roped and tied' Porsche literally does whatever it wants to them and knows there will be little or no consequence. Just look at some of the posts in the thread. Porschephiles like yourself are coming to its defense despite clear evidence that they took advantage of many of them.

Every sophisticated car buyer recognizes that car companies will to some extent take advantage. Some do more than others. When that happens the customer should speak out and not acquiesce. Bowing down on your knees like many have done here to perpetuate a sport car has the situation *** backward. Porsche should be bowing down to you/us.
Porsche is taking advantage of us??? Then what is Ferrari doing?!?!?! 25k-50k over MSRP for an F430 coupe, 50k-100k over MSRP for an F430 Spyder, 100k-200k over MSRP for an F599!!! We've been trying to get a Ferrari at MSRP since the F360, but no such luck. I have a friend at Auto Gallery, they seem willing, but still no promises. However, if I bent over and paid over for a "used" Ferrari, they would gladly consider giving me a car at MSRP, but then again, still many "VIP" clients ahead.

Come on Nick...I've known you a while on various bulletin boards...why do you keep coming back to incite us? Yet, when we keep mentioning that Ferrari rapes its customers, you cannot defend your beloved company, except dog Porsche even more. Get over it.

Fit, finish, quality, and performance, Ferrari cannot match a Porsche. I'm not speaking through jaded eyes either...I've driven an F360 6-speed and F430 F1...and friends that know me, understand I'm unbiased when it comes to reviewing cars. Sex appeal, sound, passion, heritage (Formula One), the prancing horse trumps all. A Ferrari IS A FERRARI afterall, who wouldn't like one? Overall, I think Porsche is the winner, but both companies produce some of the best cars in the world.

Hhahahaha. Nick get MSRPowned. LOL.

Like stated above by allegrretto, it's rather simple. It's not a debate on capital punishment or abortion. If you like a particular porsche, buy the gawd damn thing. I couldn't give a rats azz for the behind the scenes BS. Provide me a car that delivers a driving experience like no other within its pricing sphere and I will buy it. Period. When I'm on track or driving home after a long day at the office, I don't think about the little filipino kids with bloody index fingers stitching my dashboard together, I just enjoy the ride.

As for Ferrari envy, what a total crock of bullschit. Many on this forum can run out and buy an entry level Ferrari just as you Nick. No envy here, just 'been there, done that'. For somebody so secure in his car choice, why do you lurk around on the Pcar boards? Maybe I should go back over to Fchat and stir the pot? Naw. . .too easy, far too target rich an environment.

////MOUSE, not sure WTF you are doing here, particularly defending fcars. Have you actually driven one? On track? Compared to a contemporary Pcar? Do tell, I'm interesting in hearing you opine on the subject.

What was this thread about again?
No 08 RS's. No additional 07's.
Now that all the RS's are sold and you can not get one(order one), Porsche has the RS on the web site for the US for the first time. Not just a little about it but it's own full section under 911 models.
Why bother?
Rich
