I heard this morning from a P dealer that there in fact will be a run of 2008 RSs (at least another 100 or so). Can anyone confirm? Seems like there is still quite a bit of conflicting info out there.

Not all dealers are created equal. We've heard no such information that there's going to be a MY08 production run. Sure they're great to sell, but they don't make or break us for the year.

Personally, as an enthusiast I'd like to see maybe 25 more produced! That way when I actually can afford one, I MIGHT have a chance to own one.

I want them to make at least enough if not more than demand. I want one, damn it. I could care less about the resale value, unless I buy one used. It'll be well used <driven hard and put away wet> well before I think about selling it.

A GT3 or GT3 RS sitting on a dealer's floor will sell, either way.

I was asked by my dealer if I wanted to upgrade to an RS at tidy sum of 50,000.00 over MSRP. kindly declined. This was yesterday so it might still be available. PM me if any interest and I will give details.

Can't one go to McKenna in Norwalk with $50K+MSRP for an Orange Monster?
Or Pacific Porsche in Torrance?
Or Newport Beach Porsche?
Or anywhere in the USA with that much over-MSRP price???

If the price is right! I saw a few '7 GT3 with less than 2000 miles sitting in the showrooms with the price "might-as-well-be-new".

Spoke to the PRESIDENT (Peter Schwarzenbauer) and GENERAL MANAGER (Mick Pallardy) both from Porsche North America (PCNA) and both stated that there are NO PLANS TO CONTINUE RS PRODUCTION AS AN 08 MODEL! 07 IS IT! They said if an 08 RS is coming, they don't know about it (and I would think they would). So there you have it, I and a bunch of others are screwed
Best Regards,
Evan

At some noted above yes money is king! But at Newport Beach Porsche they are selling all their RS's to customers who placed deposits, in order received, at MSRP, myself included. They have been great to deal with.

Will you give up your spot for $50,000?

Are those actually late '07s tobe produced after Holiday in August.

The reason I ask is this; if you are correct, then ALL other dealers and PCNA execs are lying. Simple as that. I mean, why would your dealer know something no one else knows?

Why would a demand-planning in any manufacturing business should start before even the end of first quarter? Especially when sale figures for the TT's are yet to mature AND the RS can't be the bread-and-butter for Porsche.

By the way, can you ask those two fools when can the buyers delete the damn sunroof?

Well that could be the case. He did state that they have spoken with PAG about the high demand for the car, but seemed pretty sure there would be no 08 RS.

HAHA didn't have a chance to ask about the sunroof thing, I would just hope for the 998 as it seems too late for the 997.

Are you sure there was no word "currently" before the bold section...
