Smile Through my ears...

Quoted US$50,000 above sticker at the McKenna Porsche, Norwalk, California for their very-first RS.

2nd Edit: Pacific Porsche, Torrance sold 3 RS' and the first one had mark-up but the rests are sold at MSRP to two long term customers.

Someone on 6-Speed said that RS would have about a $155K sticker. I thought possibly $145K. $30K or so isn't too bad if you come from the F-world

All these dealers with the big mark up can eat cat turds...PCNA is close behind because they are allowing it to happen.
Now all the ROW stuff to swap out is on the rise too....hummm, why don't they just break it off in us.

You have the option *not* to buy. You do know that; right?

This RS should've sold yesterday @ $185 if the hype is to be believed.

Chambers wanted $20K over MSRP for their first 997 Turbo last summer.... a month passed with no takers, a friend of mine then bought the TT for exactly MSRP.

RS is a different animal & I think HChamb will get around +$30K for this RS, but they would be wise to hurry up and deal it... some nervous money out there w/current equities market blip, & I have a feeling that a couple dozen RS' will spill into the MSRP+ market over the next 4 - 6 weeks.

Seems to me as a business man yyou would target these cars at your best customers and let then have them and MSRP so you ensure years of sales after that instead of looking short term and pissing most of the customers off, presend and future customers.

They contacted me weeks ago to see if I was interested in the car. I have to think they have exhausted all means trying to get as much as they can for it, yet it is still available.

They get what someone is willing to pay for it. Goes for any business. Doesn't make it PC, but what ever floats their boat.

Damn that's a lot of coin. The +70k over a GT3 would get me, um, a lot of lapdances.

HAHAHA!

I wish Chambers the worst of luck on that one.

Remember the new 03 GT2 they had? They tried selling it for a markup, and it ended up sitting on the floor for 3 years!!! They couldn't give it away...

George Chambers, (son of Herb, unfortunate GM of the Porsche store, a total dick and general blight on humanity) loves talking about how he "breaks in" the newest cars that come in by wringing them out on Storrow Drive, so whomever has the misfortune of buying that RS can know their car has been sullied by Georgie's fat, sweaty ***. (Though the situation might have changed since he drove a Ford GT into a utility pole last year, severely injuring his young wife)

Chambers is the worst group of dealerships in the area- known for routinely porking their customers in the ***. (Example, routine service for your 911, a meager $800.) Unfortunately they have a ripe market of rich and stupid college kids that feed their business...
