Default RS on track after a setup..

Took my car on track again Saturday, but this is after having a track set up put on it..

The transformation was amazing, and the levels of grip were stunning, even as this was my 3rd trackday on the original tyres, so they are now due for change.

I really get this car, it is so much easier to drive near the limit, and feels like it's not going to bite you like my MKII did sometimes..
It feels much more planted, and flater in slow and high speed turns, combined with the grunt, and gear ratios, it's just epic...

The rollbars are still on stock settings, which are near to softest, so there is still more to be had from the car for sure, it just keeps getting better and better

If you've got one coming, it's soooo worth it.

Great pictures, and thanks for the report! It's great that you found the track settings to make that big of a change.

And looking at the pictures raises an interesting point about license plates here in America in the states that require front plates. What do those folks plan on doing?

I don't plan on having one. Haven't used one in 2 years on the Turbo S either. Every now and then I get a ticket or warning.

Great looking car!!

I was just getting over the shock of seeing a GT3 hit the pit wall

me and 3 other GT3's came around a corner all up each others backsides, when it happened......

We had to do a bomb burst to avoid him and each other....that pic was taken as i was discussing with my passenger just how lucky we had been to avoid hitting him...and while trying to get my heart rate down

Did you track it with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires? If you monitored tire pressure, what were they when hot? cold?

I would think that for a track set-up, you would want to stiffen up the front bar quite a bit.

3 trackdays and tires are gone? How long were the sessions each day?

I would think about that. If you stiffen the front bar, the car will tend more towards understeer. Better to drive it in the middle for a while and then decide what you think the car needs.

Yes, i was on the standard Cup tyres, the tyres pressures didn't climb too much, only about 7-8 PSI front to rear iirc.

It was a very cold day, so they never got as high as they will in summer etc.

I will certianly stiffen up the bars, we just wanted to put a stick in the ground to start things off, this way, every time you change something you can feel the exact results of that change, rather than just going straight to full aggressive, and not really knowing what's coming from where.

I think there's still lots to be learned about the car, but initial feelings are very good.
