YEP !!! Point comparisions are based on the C & D editors opinions.
Performance results & Lap times are the true measure of the car's ability !
That said... they ought to equalize the tires.

I like reading Car&Driver but I find they always give more credit to American cars...maybe some 'sponsorship'.
By the way, that link isn't working for me?

How many of you have driven the Z06? The motor is quite impressive, but the car still felt rather cumbersome to me. Just kind of LARGE. I'm sort of intrigued by the new (2007) suspension settings - perhaps they've dialed it in a little bit more. Quite a "bargain", if that's the right word for a 70k vehicle, but I'm still not giving up my February GT-3 build for one!

The Vette has a longer wheelbase, but it seems to change direction lightly and the brakes are equal to the ceramics, at least on the street.
My deal breaker when considering the Z06 or the Ford GT was the quality (feeble) and the dealer (unreliable.) I mean, imagine you get a nice 911 and take it to a Porsche dealer, the techs will work on it just like any other. But take a Z06 to a Chevy dealer and the techs will be drawing straws to see who gets to take it out and whip it. I think the same would be true for a Ford GT of course.

The mailman brought the C&D today and I had a chance to read the article. Just as I suspected the Z06 "wins" by 1 point with a notable 11 point delta in the "price as tested" category, typical BS.
The article is supposed to be about "hardcore sports cars", cost is irrelevant.

i test drove a c6 and had a ride in one with an instructor at the track and i didn't like the car. it felt numb both from the driver and passenger seats. nevertheless, with r-comp on the z06 it would be about 1.5 to2 sec. faster than the gt3 w/ceramics. that is a significant difference.

I don't think anyone doubts that the Z06 is quicker...what amazes me is that a NA 3.6L six, in a car of similar weight, hangs with a 7L V-8! This, my friends, is engineering!
