I bet you could finance a GT3 by selling those at SEMA.

Not really -- there's already a lot of competition in the fuzzy dice carbon fibre dot market.

GT3 Targa? Why bother. I want a GT3 pick-up, doesn't have to be big. Just large enough to carry spare wheels, tools and a pit bike to the track. No need for a tow vehicle, my tow is my track car.

Re: Carbon fiber dots, I hear the market for Titanium St Christopher medals and Jesus, Mary, Joseph Statues is coming back.

Why not a convertible GT3...better still...the return of the Speedster with a chopped windshield and all.
A 997 Speedster would be a ton of fun with the GT-3 engine!

Each to their own - personally, I'd like my GT3 with sunroof AND rear seats... I can live with a few extra kgs for that set-up and that engine...

Targa might be a bit OTT though...

On second thoughts... ignore me...

...Buy a Targa, and buy a GT3, swap drivetrains, and sell the 3.6 water sump GT3 as a Carrera Aerokit. You could get $50k for the Carrera.

Take one of the purist cars Porsches got and mate it with the heaviest NA 911 out there (worse still it's heavy on the roof)???

Why in the world would you want to do that? Just get a Targa w/the X51 and leave the GT3 alone!

Don't forget the 22'' wheel option, important so that you don't rub the front lip everywhere...

I like the original targa design.

However, it would not be a GT3, so I am happy with what I have.

i see what hes saying i think it would be amazing to blast through some canyons with nothing above you but sky. you could do that with a normal targa but with the gt3 it would be tons better..... just the whole feel the vibrations and all that good stuff. but then again you could just get a targa and mod the crap out of it (taking out exessive weight, adding more power, suspension set up) and it would make the sensation of driving with a glass roof a lot more..... sensational??
