Congrats. Just make sure you use the new tunnel and not the old one that faces Daytona Speedway BLVD and you should be fine. The old tunnel will cause you a lot of problems, guaranteed.

I'm back! Austin was a blast, but I'm glad to be home. I've been busy though, with a few parts on order:

From the dealer:

Clear side markers (had them in stock, I installed them a little while ago)
GT3RS steering wheel (cost was $485.00, I won't say what I saw it for elsewhere)
Leather door finishers
Fire extinguisher & mount (mounts to front of driver seat)
4 tire pressure sensors
A set of Michelin PS2's in stock sizes

I also ordered a set of Champion Motorsport RG5 wheels. Although they haven't updated their website, they do have them for the 997 GT3. Sizes are 19"x9" fronts, 19"x12" rears. They were delivered today & I unpacked & weighed them a little while ago (no caps, sensors or valve stems):

------------RG5-----Stock GT3
Front------20.06-------23.5
Rear------21.25-------31.0

(stock GT3 wheel weights were posted here on Rennlist)

Hope to have the wheels on next week, & everything else before Daytona. (I will post updated pics)

Planning to keep the stock wheels & tires for track days.

I got the car tinted today. After having tint on everything else I've owned in the last 20 years, I gotta' have it. Made sure to get the ceramic tint, so as not to have problems with the nav. Back glass done in 1 piece.

I also need to read the topic on adding the Sirius/Cayenne unit before ordering & adding that. It's like 11 pages long. {needs cliff notes)

Also need to look into the front duct screens I've seen. Already had to clean out some leaves twice.

I think that might be it for awhile. Unlike my other cars, this thing doesn't need aftermarket brakes & suspension work to meet my standards, it's already there.

I've been making a detailed list of first impressions about the car & will post those up this weekend.

Thanks again to everyone for making me feel welcome & for all the kind words on the car.

Thanks for the reminder! I saw it while walking around late Saturday night at last year's race, but never used it & had forgotten all about it. I was worried about the rockers with the old tunnel, now I can rest easy!

Sweet! Love her in black. Hell of a way to jump into P-cars! Enjoy her. I go to Chatt. every now and again. Going to get a "run" together for Knox. area in the spring. We got about 10 in our area I know of.

Nice. I'd like to hear your impressions on the leather vs. the alcantara wheel.

Have you found a place to buy front screens?

Feel free to give me a holla next time in Austin, provided that your liver is in good shape.

Great looking car. I also have a soft spot for black.

If you don't mind, can you PM regarding the source of your RS steering wheel? I currently have a black GT3 on order with the thicker leather wheel but would like the Alcantrara one with the stripe. Does the dealer have to change out the airbag as well into the new wheel?

Thanks Frayed. I looked at Gert's site. They have it for 475 euros which according to their conversion, will cost 613 US. Probably will wait for a US supplier to have it.

Gert also has the mesh grill inserts for the front bumper. I wonder if you need to paint them or would use them in their original color to provide more contrast.

They look good, but I think better painted black to match the rest of the black highlights of the car.

Walker
Lovely car and the double black is absolutely kick-a** I have been lurking on this section for a period of time and shamelessly clipping images. For some reason with the exception of one vehicle mine seem to be something-08/09 so I am looking at MY08 for my acquisition. All the posts only fuel my urge to buy. Cant wait.......
