Default GT3 - RS alignment check??

Have any of you lucky bastards that've taken delivery of your cars checked the alignment?

With so many of the 996 GT3's having their alignment out of whack at delivery, I was wondering if we should expect the same thing on the 997 variants...

My 997 GT3 is on the rack right now having the track (per manual) alignment done. In addition to the alignment I am having the LWFW and Castrol brake fluid installed. Can't wait to drive it!

+1 to the above comment.. Alignment was standard (ie. no camber whatsoever) being rectified as we speak..

i am sure the delivery alignment is out of whack.
i will have my indy realign for track use as soon as i leave the showroom.

btw, it takes 4-5 weeks from completion to CA, i presume that the spring would have settled by then?

Mooty, who should do the alignment here in the BA? Not the dealer I take it?
Would you still advise it immediately even if it won't hit the track for a couple months, mostly street?

Thanks

i do it at tcdesignfab.com

if it's not too out of whack, you can drive it on street for sure. but i personally like my car to have track alignment asap.

Can you take your car to the e-scales later? You should check the corner weights as well, and adjust them to suit you.

I wonder how much heavier is your car compared to your Lightweight 996 GT2.

btw, put me on the list of people looking forward to read your detailed feedback on the 997 GT3 vs. the 996 GT2.

It is also being corner balanced so I should have the weight today. I am guessing around 3200. I plan on doing a few mods to lighten it up. My goal is 3050. As soon as I get it on the track I will post my opinion and comparison between the GT2 and the 997 GT3.

This is good way to go -- your dealer should be willing to give you one measurement for free.

Of ten or twenty cars, I've not seen a 996 GT3 arrive with good settings.

With better wheels, battery, seats etc., getting under the 3000lb limbo bar shouldn't be too much of a struggle.
Getting the 997 GT3 ride height and corner balance will require finding the right numbers. Maybe PMNA?

Where can a LWFW be obtained, and what is the part number?
