We put the car on our Intercomp scales and came up with this. Car has just over a 1/4 tank of fuel and no driver.

Wow! Surprising. I thought it would be closer to 3K even. Nonetheless, great corner balance numbers.

My 04 GT3, when corner balanced on a set of Longacre scales, weighed 3105, w/o me, and with just under 3/4 tank. Also, my car has PCCB's, the Tequipment roll bar and the Euro seats. So add another 35 pounds for the missing fuel (5gal * 7lb), and it's roughly 3140 w/o me, but with a full tank.

So if this 3223 pound AWE 997 GT3 is a representative sample of the breed, if we added in another 84 pounds for fuel (guessing it needs 12 more gallons for a full tank * 7lb), we're at 3307. To be fair, then subtract 35 for not having PCCB's, subtract 50 (approx) for not having the Euro seats, and add 40 (approx) for not having the Tequipment roll bar. Total weight of 997: 3262 pounds.

Point being - if both these cars were mine, and outfitted similarly, the 997 would outweigh the 996 by 122 pounds. To me, that's a noticeable difference!

Does my math seem correct?

Jeff
