Default Bi xenons Question

Simple question. Are the GT3 bi xenon headlights self-leveling or fixed?
Thanks in advance.

But be aware that the bixenons have nipples. I like nipples. Many on this board don't like nipples.

NO self leveling for Bi-xenon
From the info filled Technik Introduction Book:

To reduce the weight of vehicle, the GT3 like the Carrera GT dispenses with the dynamic headlamp leveling system. Made possible by using a firm chassis tuning with low suspention travel and small body movements.

MJones - Where do you take also this wisdom from - impressive!

Question: Can the Xenons be adjusted for left hand side driving? Is there a mechanical difference between the UK and US headlights?

Here's a fact that most people don't know: Xenons weigh 8 pounds less than the standard lights. So not only do they look good, they are in line with the GT3 / RS concept! Silly that they're not standard!

I don't think that's the reason. The gas discharge system is lighter by default. The weight difference is confirmed by Porsche, although I have bene told both 3 kg and 4 kg.

There is self-leveling on the US spec 997 GT3. Just get in one, turn on the headlights and start the engine, they do the "down / up" thing.

That quote is in the booklet, but sadly doesn't apply. Why, I don't know.

And the chrome nipples are pretty bad on most paint choices, but could be removed and maybe that's another business opportunity for Eric the "got plugs" guy. On a white car, they're not too odd. On a black car, they look very much like an after-thought.

I was going to order ordinary headlamps, but since the car does have leveling, the wiring or whatever missing parts might be a hassle as a retrofit. I know the wiring loom itself is "one size fits all" but there could be pigtails or whatever to consider for a retrofit.

Cheers,

already e-mailed him re this...said its not in the plans but I don't see how it would be that difficult; he already makes plugs for every other hole on the car.
