MOOTY: No, I'm not Gregg. My name is Ian. RS build in Jan, Orange and black, GT3 Feb. build unless the paint to spec holds things up. If it does, that's OK, I'll already have the RS : )
My color choice is "Golfblau", a '67/'68 strait, non-metalic blue, darker than Mexico.
ICON: Thanks so much, my dealer has been "looking into it" for a week. My car is in the system with cobalt for now, but that's really not my favorite. I just don't want the system to "Lock up" with out having a chance to spec the color I want. I'll send him the code. Thanks again

Started from white, so not the greatest. It's hard to find images of this color. It may actually be a little darker than this.

There seems to be two names for this color Golfblau and Gulf Blue. The problem is, there is also a light Gulf Blue, as in the Oil Company. I am using the German spelling so as not to be confused with the pale color. The CGT looks good, but the photo is so bad I can't tell if it is metalic or not. Not to mention, I'm not sure Porsche would bother with picking a vintage color, rather than formulating a new one. I had a very hard time finding this color at all, what with all the versions and potential confusion.
Tell me, why is it that there are hundreds of web sites attempting to reconstruct production info, specs, color charts etc., many of them duplicating each other, and often times contradicting eachother, and allways incomplete, yet Porsche itself would be the logical company to host this kind of historical web site? Why don't they do it on their official site? What better way to keep the faithful, faithful? I don't know of any car manufacturer that has a historical database, covering models from the past. It seems to me that the time has come. Porsche, are you listening? (I didn't think so)

I can understand the confusion, but I have tried to sort it out. There are two "Gulf Blue" one is dark (Golfblau), the other very pale (Gulf Oil Blue). I think I have it right. Please let me know what more background you have on the subject. I certainly don't want Gulf Oil Blue.
