I think green will not be chosen by many. Orange, I predict, will be chosen by most.

A special car deserves a special color. For me, I would choose either orange or green. To be a little different I would go for Mean Green.

Black, White and Silver are all colours that will make it look a bit too "normal." Whilst Orange or Green will make it stand out like the "special" car it is!!

yeah i think if white was offered and advertised from the start with decals, painted wheels and mirrors

people's views would have been different

The RS is a special car and it deserves special colours.
Personally I disagree with Porsche allowing buyers to choose White - though I am glad that they are charging the higher premium for it to deter people from choosing it. I've seen photshopped cars with the blue/white colour scheme a la 996GT3RS and it looks just like the old 996GT3 - dated looking.

Personally I think that anyone choosing the white colour option for their RS will be losing out in value. Sure you can paint the wheels yourself and buy the script from someone but even on its own the way it will come from the factory it's gonna look a little like the bastard son so to speak.

What do others think?

^You're probably right...I think I would go with a White/Blue RS...not available so I went with Orange which IMHO looks the part...funny at one point I was hoping for Paint to sample for the RS so that I could get Orange and then the pics and info came...I'm happy with my choice and ultimately that's what counts!!

Great arguments here but the Great Pumpkin (orange) will probably be the one folks will want and identify with for the 2007-2008 997 GT3 RS.

I like the white the best but it should come cosmetically just like the orange and at no extra charge. If Porsche is so stuck on exclusivity why are they offering freaking silver and black?????

If I orderd one or bought one used it would be orange or white

O.k. black or orange for porschemeister??

Black is a b...to keep clean, but I have to say with the orange accents it looks really good! Plus no upcharge whatsoever! Thinking about doing the tourist delivery thing instead.

Oh well will keep you guys posted
jochen, get black.

John, I was set on black on the way to the dealer. Sat down ordered it and I changed my mind at the last minute...so orange it is! Got the PCCB brakes, aluminum foot rest, RS logo on the centerconsole and tourist delivery! Talked to the girl in Atlanta and my car (March production) will be waiting for me in Stuttgart on April the 11th! I will keep it over there for 6 weeks and will hit a few tracks over there (Hockenheim and Nürburgring).

Will you be at Laguna on Jan 8?

FWIW I don't like the orange....perhaps it is the amount of black with it that makes it look "dark"?
I'd go white all the way, but it's not me you have to please (more's the pity!)
I'm sure you'll enjoy your new car....what we think of the colour is beside the point.
Cheers.
