Default Help needed in choosing seats and streering wheel

Just put my order yesterday but I have a few months to finalise the options.
I have two somewhat related dilema.

Since I have a bad back I chose the adaptive sport seat and the regular steering wheel. Matches well in term of alcantara.

Because I will track the car 6-8 times per years in addition to use it as an "almost" daily driver, should I have opted for the regualr cheap seat and exchange them for aftermarkets racing seats with a harness ?

If so, how much is a pain in the you-know-where is attaching a 4 points harness for your daily driving ?

Lastly, if I get a seat that's not made of alcantara, should I get the ticker steering wheel made out of leather ?

This is soooooooo

Ahhhh the issues of Porsche ownership.

First of all, if you track the car and are running in solo, I would definately get an FIA approved seat, roll bar and 6-point harness. Contrary to what you may think, you can still use the seatbelts when on the street.

The wheel is up to you.

great point! do NOT run a car with fixed back seats and harness without at least a roll bar. the cars roof is designed to collapse on roll over and you don't want your head holding it up.

I ordered the standard wheel (alcantara) and seats. Already have on order the roll bar and GT-3 996 cloth seats for use on track...regular seat belts can stay and be used as you wish.
My back has seen better days...but the GT-3 996 race seats are great support. Now how about some help with putting out the damn(air bag)dash light.

Am I understanding that you can retain the normal street belt with the car in addition to the harness ???

As far as the air bag light, there is a thread about how your dealer (or service department) can deactivate the seat-airbag component although I take no responsiblity about how it does it and what else it may cause.

the 996 GT3 had some optional Recaro racing seats. Will those fit in a 997 ??
Should I delete any seat option and get aftermarket ?
