15 Min. in a 997 GT3...
I just got back from dropping a 997 GT3 off to a customer and all I can say is this car is like sex on wheels!! I drove the car through the downtown corridor between the office towers with the exhaust plugged and running wide open all the time and the sound is incredible. A deep rumble down low and scream up top that is reminiscent of some of its Italian competitors. The suspension in its normal setting has lots of compliance and in sport mode very race like. The shifting and tractability of the engine is amazing. The car is all black with black wheels and has been nick named Darth Vader with heavy breathing included. Anybody lucky enough to be getting a GT3 or RS should have a smirk on their face right now. I've driven them all and this is my favorite even a few spots ahead of a 997 Turbo. If there was ever a Porsche to beg, borrow or steal for, this would be it!

factory test drivers are just that. the car is porsche property at that point. i'm sure the engine is warmed up before its ran to redline and yes i know engines are ran in.
the difference here is 15 minutes isn't enough to even get an engine nearly warm enough. maybe the guy warmed it up before that 15 minutes, i don't know. needless to say would you want a porter doing anything in your new car?
if a factory test driver broke it, well they just did their job. porsche would fix their car before handing it over to you. if the delivery guy broke your car, well now there is a blame game. maybe the owner told him to go ahead and flog it, don't know that either. all i said is i'm picking the car up myself.

Flog it?!
Come on guys, I'm a little more responsible than that. Redline, are you kidding? 1000+ mile break in of varying the revs up and down. The car just sings at any rpm. Up until the money is exchanged the car is ours and the customer didn't have a problem with me driving it.

Avia delivery vid?...j/k
300 km/h during this Swedish automag test drive* linked on Rennteam... great exhaust acoustics for a web video-http://www.automotorsport.se/tv/?m=162',840,700
(To start video, click on right side of the page.."Provkord Porsche 911 GT3".....underneath Renault Twingo).
*In all fairness, at around 3minutes,20sec into the video the odometer appears to indicate 8845 km on the car.
