Does anyone know if the GT3RS is a one model year only?

Here in the ROW it's a two year model car AFAIK.

I spoke with the person at PCNA, who gives out allocations to dealers in his district, and asked him the same question. He said the RS was a one year model ans the GT3 was two year. I think that has the true in the past as well.

My dealer just told me that it will be available as an '08 model as well.

Yeah, i think it is available as an 08 as well. In Europe it is too.

Originally my dealer indicated it was to be intro in March 2007 with July delivery as an 2008. So will the total of 229 (or whatever) cars be each year or spread out over both years?

Others have speculated that the GT3 RS may be a one-year car in its current form, perhaps to be followed by a GT3 RS 3.8?

Or maybe KA is correct that the RS will be introduced as a 2008, so officially sold for only one model year in the US with additional allocations for calendar year 2008.

I sincerely doubt Porsche will only supply the US with ~229 cars for calendar years 2007 and 2008...these things are pure profit for them...especially the white ones.

So I wonder if those that have received their RS's already or expect to shortly, those are the 2007's and then we when start getting ours middle of next year than those are 2008?

My order shows 2007 997 GT3 RS -as the car ordered. I have no information to indicate it would be a 2008. Dealer says it will be a 2007 and all allocation they received (1 - January (mine), 1 February, 2 June, and 1 July - will all be 2007's.

No one knows if there will be 2008's yet. If your dealer told you there would be, that is pure speculation on their part. Porsche has only released information and allocations for model year 2007.

Right now, they have allocated 229 to the US for 2007, ALL as 2007 models. From everything I have heard, there will be no 2nd year of production on the RS. There will on the regular GT3, but not on the RS.

Apparently only about 221 GT3-RS's will make it to the US initially. I heard that from one of four North America General Managers. He's 2 levels down from the top at PCNA.
