Jeff,

how do you know a #1 allocation will actually get you a car? I'm in the same boat, however I don't mind waiting a year or two.

Yeah, I might look dumb for giving away the GT3 spot, but I sure as hell kept the GT3 RS spot.

Cos,

Not dumb at all...maybe it's just wishful thinking but I think it all had a role to play in PCNA's decision to bring the RS without the sunroof. I gave up my spot for the GT3 and I'm happy I did.

I should have taken the spot for the GT3 AND sold it in LA for $10k over...

Those spots are impossible to get now, my dealer offered me a shot at one and I passed(mistake). If you don't find one you can always pick up one of those frankenlolles caymans

Jeff -
You don't need a GT3...you may want one tho..

The car that you have is more than capable, that I know.

Do PDE and you will then understand of what I say.....

Get a Cup Car. I am still waiting for Febuaray to get a 996 Cup when the prices drop a bit more.

The RS is not a race car, its makes no sense as a race car. DE car yeah. but race car, not even close.

i had a 996 gt3. only have sportbike track experience and back road car experience but live ten minutes from barber's.
we need one of those country club tracks to be built in the area.
right now b/t barber's, talladega gp, and road atlanta, i could get about a
dozen de's / year, not including paid pde's at barber's. not much!
do have a de and pde coming up, but pde you don't get to use your car.
i'd like to have a place nearby i can go to 4 or 5 days a week and relieve stress by improving my driving skills.

Jeff, you'd be amazed at how many days become available when you start to get involved in local track events and become known amongst other track guys.

Driving safely, under control and not acting like an idiot helps as well. Pick up a 996 GT3, 996, 993, 964, Cayman etc. and make it a dedicated track car. I guarantee you any one of those cars will be more capable than you for at least a few years.

I couldn't agree with that statement more. As long as you have the right attitude, don't matter what you choose to learn in. Just as long as you understand its not the car by itself that will be fast. Its the operator that makes it fast. For your first DE's, don't be surprised if a low hp $8K car driven in the right hands will get by you without thinking about it. For proof, throw Cos in an E30 325 at Infineon and see what he does with it.

No, no longer getting RUF RGT. When I asked about 3 months ago I was told one price and now the price went up. They are asking like e165k for it.....ouch.

I bought a little M coupe and it is loads of fun.

If all goes well, I will pick up a Cup Car by spring and I should have my RS by Oct so I am happy.
