Question: Trade-in 996GT3?
Folks-
I know that Porsche dealers always try and low ball you, but I am so busy I do not time to sell to the individual out there.
I would like to buy a new 997 GT3 (potentially a 997TT when they are available). I realize a waiting list is in order on both of these cars now.
The 996GT3 car is guards red, immaculate except for a few minor pits in front. I have never tracked this car, but I love it for long trips (I don't commute from home office). The car has about 8K miles.
Should I wait and trade-in when the 997 series cars that are desirable become "pre-owned" and trade in my 996 GT3 in at that point?
I love spartan interiors, and am not looking for plush (except for maybe a better sound system). I am in white/red group in Driver's Ed here in Potomac, was once an IMSA racer, and intend to go back to club racing.
Any suggestions?

2005 GT3 - potentially for sale
2002 TTX50 - sold, but beautiful Lapis Blue Metallic gas guzzler
1993 RS America - sold
1992 911 Turbo S2 (one of 25) - sold
1980 SC - loved, but forgotten

If you're going to sell it for sure, then there's no point in holding on to it and possibly losing more money on it.
If you're not sure then hang on to it and see what happens.
