Default Placed the order for my GT3 RS

I got the call yesterday to send my specs for my January delivery GT3 RS so here's what I'm getting.

A1 Black with Orange Trim.

567 Windsheild with Grey Top Tint.

P74 Bi-Xenon lights.

810 Floor Mats.

XXZ Foot Rest in Sports Look.

X69 Door Entry Guards in Carbon.

595 Roll Cage in Black.

XPA Thicker Steering Wheel in Smooth Leather.

I also requested that my Orange wheels be painted Black and hope that they will grant me this wish. Not too keen on Orange wheels. If not, I might have the dealer paint them for me when the car's here.

I was agonizing over the PCCB brakes but Porsche made it easy for me. No PCCB in the Gulf States so that pretty much closes the book on that option. No idea why but it might be related to their race experience here with the Super Cup cars that were running PCCB's.

I'll be sorry to see the 997 S with X51 power upgrade go because it's been such a blast to drive. Funny thing happened when I sent the specs. I got cold feet and thought about speccing a November Delivery 997 Turbo. I tried justfying it by trying to convinse myself that the turbo is the superior everyday car. Then I drove the carrera S, hard, and it reminded me how much fun is a two wheel drive car can be.

Thats great that you have one on order. I congratulate you! Weird that you cannot get the PCCB Brake upgrade. Once again, congratulations!!

Interesting statement, care to expand on what the experience was?

Actually I wouldn't call it a statement, more of a wild guess. My experience with Gen II PCCB on my, now sold, 996 turbo S was pretty positive. I have not heard of any claims made here in the region over the PCCB brakes in either Gen I or Gen II. Leads me to guess that it might be related to the Super Cup races held here where all the Cup cars were running PCCB brakes.

Now the wait begins...I finally was able to locate a GT3 for December build...got a good deal...MSRP including $1000 credit towards clear bra & car cover...I got some cold feet this morning..I really enjoy the C2S I have now...but the GT3 keeps calling to me...Again...Congrats on THE sports car..

CDH, I know what you're going through. I'm pretty happy with my C2S as well and think that it's pretty much perfect. The wait is always hard and it'll be harder still when the first GT3 start trickling in.

I thought you were implying that their were issues with the PCCB Supercup brakes as raced in Bahrain and I wondered what they might be as I have not heard of any problems with them.

I was only guessing at the reason why it's not available as an option. To tell you the truth, I'm not even sure I would have went for the PCCB's. I'm not planning on selling this car anytime soon so steels might be the better brake system for me in the long run.

Aren't the ceramics standard on the GT3 RS? Maybe that is why it was deleted?

Colm, PCCB brakes are an option on the RS.

We've all seen the pictures of the 997 GT3 RS in Orange with Black, and of course we've seen the Green with Black.

Are there any pictures of the Black with Orange trim (wheels, mirrors, etc) or the Arctic Silver with Orange trim?

I'd like to see the Black with Orange script, Orange mirrors, Orange wheels, etc... and Silver with Orange? could there be a worse combination?
