Default Build Dates

Anyone know if any 997 GT3s are being built in October? A Porsche sales rep told me that the October build dates got pushed back one month.

I was originally told mine would be built in October, which was then changed to November with no explanation by my dealer. My car's expected completion date is now 12/1/06, which I believe means it will be on the boat by then.

The car's completion date is the day that the final assembly and tests are finished (that takes about 7.5 hours according to Porsche AG).

FWIW production was delayed and pushed back about a month.

My GT3 is reported as already built on 9/23/06. The dealer told me to expect 4 to 6 weeks to delivery in Orlando. !

I just tried to alter my order. The dealer called and said my production was pushed up. Originally slated for Nov. 10th. Pushed up to October 29th. I am stuck with the hump on the dash. Oh well, it will make a great early X mas present.

Delivery dates are of course not including any delays like the 996 GT3 had...good luck and I look forward to all of you reviews!

I was scheduled for a December build.

I changed my order this past Tuesday which the system accepted but my dealer told me my build date had been moved to late November.

With several of you stating the same, it seems the issue has been resolved and production is moving forward...

The only issue was " increased demand" for the 997TT which has a very high profit margin and was reguiring all available engine capacity. Porsche knows how to maximize profits!
