Default Is it worth it?

Does anyone think the RS will be worth the extra cost?

It looks like the differences will be largly cosmetic. Anyone think it will have more than modest collector value?

Fiar enough. I even asked the question before. Just wondered if anyone has thought about it more.

OK with you?

if you're buying a car for 'collector value' - you're in trouble.
Don't buy a car on speclation of it's value. Especially a new car.

IMO as a car, it's not worth it when new here in US where it's more of an RSA than real RS, Euro RS IMO is worth the difference.

However, from collector's point of view: Price difference when new is about 20%. I guarantee 10, 20 and especially 30+ years from now the price difference will be more than 20%.

No, it's not worth it.

The only significant difference for US caris the rear suspension and wider track. Same motor, same sunroof.

IMO,

If the 997 RS was as different as the 996 RS ie; different heads and valves and suspension stuff then I would say YES, but its not and it will only hold that 20% difference because I think most will not be driven much and will not accumalate as many miles standard 997 GT3's.
