Are you a voracious driver also? Just out of curiosity, what do you own/drive and what have you owned/driven in the past?

Just on my second Porsche, '05 Gt3, now an '02 Gt2. Summit Point, WV, hour and a half drive for me when I get the chance. You're lucky to live so close to a track. My Porsche pedigree, or lack thereof, is still in it's infancy. How are you feeling about the sunroof fiasco?

Hmmm....998 in 2008...Sounds like a V8 to me......

No, a facelift in 08, not a '998'.

Yah! That's why are cars with the sunroofs that aren't optional are priced thousands less than those sunroof less models they sell overseas.

Ok Itc, I had just always thought that the 997 was a facelift of the 996 prepping for the 998. Guess time will tell!

So I guess we are really getting a killer deal and should be grateful. Great to know Porsche has our back.

What's up with the missing spokes on the 997 in the first spy pic on this page?

Yes, that's 17.5% on top of an additional 10-30% higher price depending on country. Start with the Porsche Germany website and price a car the same as you would get it here. Remember to add things like the sound plus stereo and sunroof that are standard on our cars. Then convert the price to USD. Do the UK and then the Netherlands. Would you pay that price if you could get it without a sunroof?

Default Letter Response from Porsche

Well, for a while I did not think Porsche would get back to me. At least they said I was a loyal customer and thanked me for taking the time to contact them and share my feelings. In addition, they said they forward my comments to our Research and Development and Product Planning Departments for their review and consideration. My letter was send to Steve Harrington, Regional Service Manager

Do other people get the same response?

If I could figure out how to attach the jpg file of the letter I would include it in the post.
