Mulling over GT3 RS possiblilities, I wondered how much the standard in Europe Carrera GT seats would cost to add to the car post delivery.

The list price of one (1) CGT seat is $6961.05 and it is not clear if this includes the mounting hardware or not.

Hmm....seems pretty steep to me for a seat. Makes me question two things:

1) Will the seats come available to market for significantly less money?

2) Will Porsche credit the USA market for this value lost due to not having these seats (not to mention the roll cage, etc.) with a significantly lower price compared to Europe on the USA RS?

I think I know the answer to question #2.

Well lets see on Question #2 - When my 2001 Turbo arrived it had a $580 credit because hollow spoke wheels were not available. To replace with hollow spokees later cost $4,400. List price of the boat anchors that came on my car was $2,450. So based on that you can expect a 25% discount to what the price would have been with the seats. Of course you will get USA sport seats you don't want and can't sell, but hey you can add them to your seat collection! While we are likely to get favorable USA pricing, the addition of seats and roll bar will be costly! Hopefully Gert has good connections and will be able to suppy us quickly.

Are the Euro GT3RS seats identical to the CGT seats?

I don't know for sure.

In pictures it looks like the same shell with different mounting hardware.

I am hopeful Porsche will add the 997 mounting hardware, change the assembly to a "997" part number and then price it at 911 prices rather than Carrera GT prices.
