Wanted to buy: GT3 order spot...

There was a problem when people were really profiteering from the 996 Turbo. People had multiple orders -- I had three -- and were never intent on taking the car -- I was intent on taking the first car that showed up and dumping the other orders.
It took months to get the deposit cash back.
As a money-making venture, just buy BRKA and forget about it. Go sailing, drive the Porsche you already own.

It's the american way. I know one guy in NY who paid $10,000.00 over list for one of the first Elise that had arrived in a showroom. One year later, the Elise is selling at discounts.
Like all previous models, Porsche will make as many as the demand requires. If not in 2006-2007, then there will always be 2007-2008. It is not a limited edition car, and Porsche wants to sell as many cars as there are buyers. There will be enough for everyone who wants one, as it has been in the past. I guess those that pay extra just want to be one of the first.
