Why Go With Widebody on RS?
What are the technical pros and cons of this?
So far all i can think of is:
Pro
-Asthetics
-Wider Track Due to Bigger tires/rims
Cons
-Wind Resistance
-Lower Top Speed
-Lower High Speed acceleration
Is the benifit from the wider track really that great over the 997GT3/ narrow cars?

The wheel and tire combo are the same on the RS and the normal GT3 other than the offsets. So yes, the track in the rear is wider. Does the GT3 really NEED a wider track in the rear? Of course not, as the decision is purely marketing. Just look at the Carrera 4 models. Why would the super stable all-wheel drive models need a larger track than the 2WD versions. Answer: They dont, but it does look better. Here's the best part, but somewhat off-topic. A standard ROW GT3 optioned with bucket seats will weigh the same as the RS according to Porsche literature. To be fair though, the RS might come with the roll-bar as standard. Even so, the weight difference between the two cars is hardly worth mentioning.
