2007 GT3 steel brake aftermarket
I was going to start a separate thread on this question but figured I'll piggy pack into this one. I have a 7.2 GT3 and know that 7.1 rotors are smaller, however I see a lot of brake pad part numbers that are the same between 7.1 and 7.2. Certainly geometrically it is possible that they use the same size pad as the friction surface height is the same on the 7.2 but further away from the center. Is this the case? To be more specific for my question, I see that Hawk lists they Ceramic pads for both 7.1 and 7.2 GT3s (same p/n) but there are some resellers that claim that part number is only compatible to 7.1

Do u have pic of your front rotor. At some point they changed caliper to 3 bridges vs single. On 3 bridge, you have to remove caliper to change pads
My front calipers have single bridge for easy pad changing.

My question was regarding stock 7.2 calipers, they do not need to come out to take the pads out.
Consider keeping your oem rotors - just have a brake shop "turn them." It is EZ/PZ and cheep. Worried about rotors getting too "thin". Worry not, brake rotors work just fine worn well below "spec." Look at how thin motorcycle rotors are. Agreed that motorcycle brakes are less stressed than auto brakes because motorcycles weigh so much less. However, even racing motorcycles use to thin single disks.
Porsche does not make its own rotors. They use several aftermarket sources. I recently bought rotors directly from China via Alibaba. Quality/fitment is flawless. In my discussions with the Chinese supplier they disclosed that they make the rotors for some USA vendors.

if there is anyone local that wants a set of brembo / race tech front rotors type3 I think? 380x34, designed for 997.1 PCCB or any 997.2 GT I have a lightly used set / spares in my garage. They should find a home. And some pads too... I dont think I have any rears.
Socal. local pickup, will cut you a deal.
***By the way that charge is WRONG. 997.1 GT3 PCCB are 380x34mm!!!!!!!

New pin
Nut off 13mm
Pin stuck
350mm front rotor; 34mm wide.
6 piston
Pagid, but digits are blurred.
Old T55 caliper bolt is perfect for hammering pin out. But first, pushed pads into pistons to free their grip on pin.
28mm pad dampers.

I would clean house with those brakes and have them rebuilt based on how they look and give the system a full fluid flush. Your life depends on brakes.
For street use I run Cayenne rotors up front (dimpled and slotted). Stay away from cross drilled-they tend to crack. I run Hawk pads with virtually zero dust. Rear rotors are OEM because I haven't found a good alternative and they are just along for the ride.
