Default Blown out Cantrell transmission mounts

Well...these have a fair number of track days and 15k miles on them, installed in 2015. I'm going back to the latest OEM rev.

I was on the Luft drive and hit a pretty aggressive bump that unloaded the car and I think that did this mount in, finally, but likely it's been working its way like this for a while.

If you have one of these, inspect it!

My Wevo engine mounts seem to be holding up.

Wow. Fully poly and heat in this area is why these are destroyed. OEM and Function First "inserts" for similar performance without worrying about them ever collapsing.
I use the "street/OEM" inserts, as the full race inserts add a considerable amount of NVH that was a bit annoying on my previous RS.

Probably. This car is street only now so it's in a slow transformation to be less annoying on the street, I'm putting the latest rev. factory mount in it.

I'll bet it did make a helluva noise in the cabin.

Did you ever rev it a bit with the engine cover open? It's interesting to hear the noise and watch the engine try to rotate itself.

NO, i wasn’t sure exactly what it was, I suspected trans mount… but hard to tell. Mainly as it would knock over larger bumps OR on decel When the engine was under load. It didn’t knock on acceleration, only decl.

Late to the party, but mine too.

30,000 miles mind you and lots of DE, but definitely more of a regular maintenance item than I expected.

I am tempted to try the harder red version, but I don't see the change interval being any different.

We had this type of failure on certain engine mounts back in the day on our E36 track cars. UUC, and some other vendors, were using a very similar poly material. The passenger side always failed first, due to the heat from the exhaust manifold. Most of us went to billet aluminum at that point and never looked back.

Had a similar issue in 2022. Not as badly destroyed but certainly not in good shape. Replaced them with the same mount…

Does anyone know what the black bushing durometer is on the cantrell mount? I have one pressed into the mount with literally 20 miles or less driving which i would gladly part with. Picture to follow.
