Default PCCM for 997.2?

Does anyone have any insight regarding the release of the Porsche classic radio for the 997.2? It kills me that they made it only up to 997.1 lol.

I just bought a Carrera white 7.2 GT3 (amazing car, I’m keeping it forever. I could go on and on about how fantastic it is) but to be able to take calls conveniently with apple CarPlay while I’m zipping through the mountains would make all the difference..

‘Just buy a CarPlay retrofit kit from NM Automotive for your PCM, problem solved and everything retains it’s stock appearance. I’ve been very happy with mine.

If it’s any consolation, the people on the other end of the phone call will hardly be able to hear you anyways with all the interior and engine noise

I don’t even really bother taking calls in my car.

I have a PCM head unit out of my 997.2 GT3 lying around. Replaced it with the radio delete shelf. If you wanted to pursue this...

I've read it's a lot of work to upgrade a non-PCM car to PCM 3.0

I have the CDR-30 so I'm waiting for the PCCM to eventually be released.

thank you. It seems I’ll have to do the same. It’s going to be a glorious day when it’s announced lol.

Just bought one recently too. Actually thought about doing the radio delete shelf but I simply can't live without NAV and phone. Best solution I've come up with is a bluetooth FM transmitter

Patiently waiting for some info on whether Porsche Classic is currently pursuing this. Any updates from anyone will be appreciated!

As a 987.2 owner, I only have a CDR-30 and not a PCM 3.0 or else I would've gotten the retrofit.

IIRC, a few people have installed it on the forums. I don't recall if it supports wireless AA/CP.

I wanted to like this but I really don't like how the screen is tiny, there are USB ports on the front with the Porsche logo, and there are a bunch of buttons cluttering everything up.

are you offering it for sale? And would it fit the 997.2 2009 ? Mine has gone completely crazy and seems unfixable

The 997.1 PCCM only supports wired CarPlay/AA hence the usb ports on the front.

Weird they'd go through all the effort for the retrofit and force wired lol. Even if wired is a requirement, why not stick the USB ports in the rear where there is a ton of room and provide an extension. Most of the other aftermarket headunits do this so you can mount your USB ports wherever you want.
