i have the pcm in my 997.2 and this works great for wireless bluetooth. it bridges into the aux port in the center console and is powered by the usb port in there too. this + rennline phone mount and i'm good to go. no need to mess around with carplay upgrades or a pccm upgrade.

Weird they'd go through all the effort for the retrofit and force wired lol. Even if wired is a requirement, why not stick the USB ports in the rear where there is a ton of room and provide an extension. Most of the other aftermarket headunits do this so you can mount your USB ports wherever you want.

Has anyone heard anything new on when Porsche Classic plans to release the PCCM for the 997.2? I wonder what is taking them so long, they have had one for the 997.1 for the past year.

Most likely they'll wait until the 997.2 has reached "Classic" status, which seems to be 20 years after the initial release.

Does the rear port work for CarPlay or only data files for music?

"When does a car go from simply being “used” to becoming a fully fledged classic? According to Porsche, right around the 20-year mark."

According to Porsche it's: The year 2023 will be a big one for 997 owners around the world, as it becomes an official Porsche classic.

In the meantime I bought a gang of CDs for the first time in probably 20 years at the local record exchange. Something way more tangible about them than just using the aux cord. Catch me cruising around with my Phil Collin’s and Daft Punk CD’s at full blast locally on days ending in Y 😂

That's Hagerty's hearsay.

Personally, I really don't think we'll see 997.2 pccm+ for a few years.
