I just purchased a .2 RS and it seems that the center console was swapped to a painted unit. This unit has a switch right near the hand brake, of which I have no idea what it does (?) and only has a 12v source in the armrest. Could this be a .1 console? Do all .2 have aux inputs in the console? Looking to connect my phone audio. Thanks in advance.

You may want to post a picture, but both PCM 3 and CDR30 had aux input. PCM also had a spot for USB. So yes, there should be an aux plug there. Also on both .1 and .2 console there should be a 12v in both armrest and in console itself under flip up lid.

Does your car have the Universal Audio Interface option? If it doesn’t then the car won’t have an AUX port. You get an AUX port as well as iPod and USB ports with the PCM 3.0 in conjunction with the Universal Audio Interface. Universal Audio Interface with the CDR 30 gets just an AUX port. I believe this stuff can be retrofitted.

Excellent distinction regarding needing the Universal Audio interface option. Either his car doesn’t have it, or the console he bought doesn’t have it. But my guess would be his car doesn’t have it.

It has PCM 3.0, it is equipped with premium sound and nav/phone bluetooth. The radio has a USB slot but no AUX input, where would this be?. I guess I can pull the console and see if the wiring is there but i dont believe it has the UAI option.

I'm guessing the OP's center console was swapped for a non-PCM console. My RS just has the basic CDR30 without UAI and it only has the 12v socket.

If you find that you don't have an aux, I have a nice cheap Dension Gateway 500 in the classifieds that will solve the problem

Yes I use the radio! This car's sound system is pretty good and when you live in LA, chances are you're gonna be sitting in traffic on either end of any fun drive.
