Sway Bar Question
I've read all the threads on the 997.2 GT3 / GT2 rear sway bar (same bar) for 997.1 GT3 so I'm clear that it is a good mod
My question is - Is there any benefit to also adding the front 997.2 GTR3 / GT2 bar?
I have both so curious if I'm good enough just changing the rear or changing both.
The newer bar has 4 holes and the original has 5. I haven't measured their thicknesses but I believe they are the same.

Are you trying to install this on the 996?

I never knew there was a difference between the 997.1 and the .2 bars

I thought the front bar was the same?

the front .1 has 5 holes and the front .2 has 4 holes. They almost look the same minus the outer most hole.
not sure if there are any other differences.

When I first got my car I wasn’t crazy about the handling. I found the TSB that Porsche put out regarding the GT2 rear bar, instantly bought the bar and installed it. It definitely changed the way the rear of the car worked but with the rear end more buttoned up it made the front end feel disconnected. I installed the .2 front bad which made the car feel more of a singe unit versus what I’d experienced with just the GT2 bar.

I went with the standard setting for a .2 GT3, I can’t remember what that is as it’s been a while. I will be home this Saturday and I can take a look for you if you don’t have an answer by then.

If you could take a look and see where your bars are set i’d really appreciate it.
Haven’t tracked the car lately but in the next couple months i have several trips up to the mountains with the 7/3 and would love to try out the new bars
cheers

Thanks for the replies.
After taking a good look at the front, it won't come down without unbolting the entire subframe. Unless someone knows of an easier way. And if I unbolt the subframe I will need an alignment and I don't have the time for that before the trip.
So, I installed the rear GT2 bar and left the stock front. I put the rear at soft and front in the middle, which should be the same a the .2 bar at second hole.
I'll see how it handles in the mountains and make adjustments as needed.

I went up to the mountains last weekend and happy to report that the car felt great. I had stock front bar in the middle and rear GT2 on soft. The car did not push at all. The rear stepped out on me just a smidge one time, probably due to a slick spot where is was a little moist. But otherwise the car was planted and very balanced.
Next time I take the car to the track I can try out different settings and see exactly where the thresholds are front and rear.
