Seem to be quite a few people more worried about looks than function, if you are a collector who doesn't drive your GT2 then of course you want stock look, but for those who want to drive, liberating the car from its boat anchors and freeing up ~11kg of unsprung takes the handling to another level.
I used to run some Dymags, carbon fibre rim, back in 2010 (see pic below) and whilst these were slightly heavier, ~0.5-1kg ea, than the BBS Fi because of the lack of weight in the rim they gave the most incredible responsive steering and handling - unfortunately they soon lost their bling through daily driving scuffs.

wait, WTF does this say? “Daily driving” doesn’t cause scuffs, “careless” driving and parking cause scuffs. If I ever hear my wife or kids try and use that excuse, it is quickly corrected. Sorry, just a huge pet peeve of mine.😉

OP, if the car is for collection or show purposes, OEM is the way to go. In fact a vehicle like this should always have the original wheels available for when it is resold.

Of course you are right and actually I didn't actually scuff these wheels and to date have never scuffed my BBS Fis either in best part of 70K Miles, the carbon rims just became discoloured and the laquer/top coat or whatever it is peeled off, all this without being scuffed
I actually paid quite a lot to get them refurbished and sold them on.

As far as scuffing wheels it is an inevitability unless one is really careful, like "this is my pride and joy 997GT2 and I treasure. it" kind of careful, if you drive in towns in the UK there are plenty of nasty kerbs out to get you every time you do a reverse park, I never tell wife or kids off for it as karma is a biatch

Thanks. I was pleasantly surprised that they accept OE center caps, and the color is a perfect match. IMO removing the BBS "lip" stickers and swapping OE caps make these wheels look like they could have been a factory option.

I like both - actually the BBS as well - in all forms.... so maybe i like all 7 sets listed.

Yes I am a wheel wh0re. Yes I have an issue. Yes I'm ok with it.....

I am looking for a set of OEM wheels if anyone is selling. I plan to refinish (unless mint) so pass on those scuffed suckers!!

Forgelines were on the car when bought it, and have OEMs.

Thoughts?

And yes, I did replace the yellowing stone guards in front of the rear wheel.

Back to stock ….

Thank you.

I like the RG5's quite a bit on Turbos and Carrera's, just prefer stock wheels on GT cars.

Recently purchased RG5's from Champion to put on my Signal Green car below.

For what it's worth - here are some pics of the BBS Motorsport RE-MTSPs in white gold on my 997.2 GT3RS. I like them better than the original black wheels.
Thanks to Eric @SupremePower for helping me with these!
