Default GT2 997 - PPI Results

I am looking at a 2008 997 GT2 with 20,000 kms. 2 Owner car with service history but I am not up to speed on the over rev results. Can anyone tell me should I run from this car or is this acceptable based on the results below.

Looks good to me - go for it provided that you're happy with the physical condition.

I wouldn't worry too much about this report. If the rest of the car and PPI came back clean, go for it!

Here's a great video on DME reports

Is this a 20,000 mile car? Because at 12 1/2 thousand miles 811 total hours gives you a very low mile per hour average?

I would comment I would not say that car is babied, I can try to find my report where the car had 15,000 miles and looked way better than this…. But the reality is, Rpm ranges are much lower for the turbos and the time in each Range is exceedingly low

Dougs videos well done, this site is also a good reference

You bring up a very good point. Average speed is too low. I'd expect 30mph or so. The 15mph is much lower than I'd expect.

Thanks guys, I have just checked the actual kms rather than rounding off (and remember this is not a US car) - they are 24,765 kms. They are definitely the original kms, I have all the details needed to check this. The car has been a CBD owned car and the average speeds in my city car would be around the 30 to 40km'h max (so 18 to 25 mph). Not much much fun at all. Its why I don't use my P cars as daily drivers.

Does the higher kms make much difference? Unfortunately for me I like my cars to be perfect....... which is hard when you are buying second hand sometimes and value is important (over here these are a $400K car, 997 GT3's are in the $300's now).

I've seen plenty of 30-40k mile cars in better condition than 10k mile cars provided the paint has been protected with paint protection film. I'd buy on condition over miles in all cases. Miles only matter to me if you're planning on collecting a car and not driving it and even in that case, you need both low miles and condition.

Totally agree. I am a low miles and condition perfect buyer. The miles are on the higher side for me, but low for a 14 year old car (1,000 miles a year). And I see cars that people say are mint..... so I go and take a look at it and the car looks like one of my kids has had a party in it with 10 mates!

These cars are pretty robust. If well maintained, zero issues except maybe coolant lines. Mine had 54K KM when i bought it. Driven but well maintained throughout its life. Mechanically it was near perfect. Few interior bits need refreshing but other than that, tight as a drum.

As others have commented DME looks fine. Mine looks very similar. Nearly impossible NOT to overrev these cars with the boost overruns.

Good luck and enjoy.
