Give the guy a break. Not everyone sells cars frequently enough to understand all the nuances of a proper listing, especially for a specialty car like this. Many good recommendations have been made in this thread. Hopefully seller takes some of the advice and shows this car in the proper light, and gives himself a chance to get true market value.

Was about to say the same - a bit harsh. Good info shared though to course correct. Put out a proper ad seller and GLWS.

Good luck. I've a hat I'll eat if you get within 20% of asking.

Clean it up, take good pictures, compile everything from purchase sticker to service records and make sure all rubber/plastic parts aren't toast from sitting for 5 years (starting it occasionally and driving it a few minutes doesn't amount to much).

my only .02 here is to agree with Burren, and say that starting your car up & NOT running it for a solid 18-20 miles (per run), not really getting the oil up to temp, burn off the moisture in the oil & get it circulating fully throughout the coolers etc, get the fuel flowing through the injectors, get the entire engine really hot, etc, is really NOT a good way to treat the car. Personally, I actually think a 11 yr+ old car with 20k miles is a better choice if you're actually going to drive & use the car,... otherwise if "collecting" a low mileage car & willing to let it sit the rest of its life, is probably not a non-RS low spec option choice made by collectors. thus I agree with Wonderdan, as well as GM.RS in the suggestions.

.... I say all this, not to be a downer on the seller,... but to also add some selling advice, which is not to tout the "drives around the block once a month" (as you did in post #33).... cuz that is not really a good thing, and many enthusiasts will not take it as a positive.

Even though this is not a Marketplace sale ad,... and the seller is not a RL member (I've been a paying member since 2015, but with the recent Purge2.0, I have let my membership lapse in protest, and will continue until IB sets some things right)... I am not going to comment heavily on asking price.... but know that I keep taking double-take looks at it.

sorry for so much use of the word "not",... but it seemed the best way to get the point across.

I agree,..... ask IB/RL to take this thread down, and start over.

My 2cents…what’s done is done. You can’t erase the info you’ve already shared…the for sale thread will bring it to light.

What you can do is get a full Porsche inspection, not a just a simple DME. If it is what you say it is then the BAT photographer will be sufficient after you clean it… they have a list.

Really anyone in the market that doesn’t care about PCCB will pay you market price and gamble on your seals being dried out…. your biggest value is still single owner and this would be its 1st paint correction.

Every once and a while there are two BAT buyers that could drive the 20% premium your looking for… but I wouldn’t expect it.

well ... this turned out quite anticlimactic!

OP - does the car still run? You may want to clarify that in this premier for sale post. Oh and i don't know why you're all so harsh ... i personally find the flatbed shots to be a nice touch and surely to add value to the sale of this #investmentgrade specimen! Well done!

From what I see the car runs as the the car is idling in the first picture of the gauges unless this was taken awhile ago.

Trade you straight up for a less dusty NSX with 100 thousand more miles.

Ya really shot yourself in the foot with those reveal photos. To me it speaks volumes towards the neglect of the vehicle. Otherwise awesome car. Good luck with the sale, 200K!

How has anyone not mentioned that BaT will not agree to a 214k reserve on this car? I honestly don't seem them agreeing to anything higher than around 170-180k max?

I'm sure he's in for a treat ;-) My guess ... 2 month wait and $170K reserve, which would still be v. generous. It's a sad sight to see what some of these cars have become.

Not only was there a flatbed, but there's jumper cables in one of the pics too. I suspect it was in a small self-storage for years, and not on a battery tender. If he indeed did at least get it serviced every year I guess that helps.

😂 you’d think this was a lost orphan… I mean it makes me want to buy it and put it in the garage where it’s nice and warm and give it a bath and maybe some new 93 octane ethanol free gas

I quickly scanned this post and read "flatbread" instead of "flatbed" and thought "My god, he's eaten in it too!?!?" LOL

To clarify - was it driven once a week or once a month or not in 5 years ? Did it have 52 cold starts every year with nearly no miles ?

Sorry for the questions - Just trying to figure out how many gold bullion I need to unbury
