Default Tail light installation issues. Ideas?

The brass pieces in the tail lights (see pic) that you screw into are stripped and and don't work. So went to my local dealer to order new screws and the brass fittings to replace in my lights. He said you have to buy new lights. He ordered parts that looked like the correct part on the engineering drawings, but didn't come as the ones I wanted. Any ideas? Or do I have to spring for new lights?

Buy a nice tap set, and very easily retap those threads. Change to a new and appropriate screw and be done.

Brass is very easy to run a cleanup tap through. I like this these for that purpose. https://shop.snapon.com/categories/R...ponents/675357

Thanks for the idea. Went and got a 6m tap today and some 6m bolts and new washers. Worked like a charm.

I tried. Didn't work. So new threads was the fix. You don't notice except it is 4mm Allen screw instead of a Torx now.
