Over all these YouTube guys. JayEmm is good. And of course Harris, Carfection, Evo.

If anyone on this board watches Schmee, I’ll light your car on fire.

As he has a knack for doing, Mr. JWW nailed it. These cars aren't about generating numbers so much as they are generating EMOTION! I can drive my 3.8 RS at 30 mph or 130 mph but I'm smiling the entire time. The feelings of most vehicles to generate that level of emotion are just dwindling regularly, and the 997 era cars are absolutely sublime at giving you everything you want and nothing you don't. I plan to have my 3.8 RS until I can no longer operate a manual transmission, and maybe even a bit longer than that. Porsche...there is no substitute.

Love the car, just not the video. I tuned out this guy when he started selling sunglasses. Thought I'd give it another go when I heard he bought a 4.0. The footage of the car and audio were pretty underwhelming. He seemed to lack much enthusiasm as he waxes so eloquently about all things that have been said about the 4.0 for the last ten years. I was hoping he could capture the 'magic' this car beholds but was left hearing about how pretty much ANY manual transmission car is more engaging than a dual clutch...you don't say?? lol. The only original comment he had to offer was the car is a combination of 'micro crescendos'. Mind blowing..
What a wasted opportunity when you have one of the best cars on the planet on some of the greatest roads in Europe.

100%

Schmee makes me cringe. How he got the following he has is one of life's mysteries in my book.

Steve, agreed. These are no longer the fastest cars or the best handling cars and in fact likely out accelerated by electric commuter cars but they retain a magic only a limited group of cars have been able to bring to the table and belong in the pantheon of "iconic great drivers cars of all time".

The channel has beautiful cars and really nice cinematography, but its pure ego-stroke content. Nothing new or innovative, for the most part, just "hey look at me". The only thing that was really interesting was the Caterham racing series and that was all of 4 videos and now its done.

Whether you like his style or not... (The beginning of this video was a little cringe but the rest was really good IMO)

He does own and drive 3 GT3 cars and produces good content, so I am subscribed. I also think he makes some good points especially about the manual, I have felt that way for years. I always say going slower - stuck in traffic, busy roads, bikers, pedestrians, more speed traps, crossings, construction zones, etc - the manual is way more fun - I will rev-match at any speed and just love rowing the gears, especially on the the 997 with the notchy manual / heavy clutch / fast reacting throttle - the engagement is very rewarding in every situation.

'Ego-stroke' is exactly right. It won't be long until he launches his own line of hair products to go along with the sun glasses. lol

Rick, I will have to take your word for it on the French roads for now. Hopefully one day I'll ship my car over and experience them first hand.

I didn't find the video offensive or repulsive. I've never watched this "influencer" before and yes, some of the language was a bit cliché but overall I liked it. Made me want to go for a drive in my lowly 3.8. The fact that he was all excited about a 10-year-old car speaks volumes considering right now we have new supercars being introduced on a weekly basis.

Every country has special pieces of tarmac but then there are the roads around Draguignan and Grasse in the South of France. In my book, they are truly unmatched.

The question I have is when can we get a GR Yaris in the US. I promise I'll wear Mr JWW fragrance, deodorant and sunglasses if I can get one of those in the US. I'll even comb my hair in the same way. Please Toyota.
