Default GT2 Seats and Factory Seatbelts

Group:

I just had GT2 Seats installed in my 997.1 RS. I have a GMG RSR roll bar and the factory seatbelt connects to the roll bar since the roll bar connects to the factory seatbelt connection... The shop installing the seats did not run the seatbelt through the belt opening on the side of the seat. Too me it didn't look/feel right and it would ultimately cause premature wear to the leather. They are going to thread the belt through the lap belt opening on the side, but are concerned that this puts the connection of the belt an an aggressive angle.. I called GMG and the guy (who sounded like I just woke him up) didn't seem concerned nor has he had any requests for adaptors etc?

Those of you who have GT2 Seats and a roll bar; how is your factory seatbelt connected at the bottom??
TIA

I needed an excuse to not work for a bit, thank you!

For me, they are anchored to the frame, but the belts do not run through the hole in the seat. I'm not anticipating excess wear on the bolster. The lower part of the seat belt doesn't move much, if any compared to the upper (torso) part.

^The factory correct way would have the belt pass through the lap hole and attach to the seat via the 17mm bolt on the rail/bracket (which itself should have a plastic cap).

Odd. GMG installed the GT2 seats in my GT3 and the three point belt is run in the factory location (ie through the hole as limitedslip shows). Your lower anchor point should also be on the seat (the low profile hex bolt near the seatrail in Burren's photos).

This is the correct location to thread the seat belt.
